LIVE STORAGE
RACKING
Casado Nordeman’s recent
entry into the
large-scale retail trade
circuit has lead the
company to significantly
increase its capacity
for production and
storage over the last
two years. With the
company’s current
expansion into market
networks throughout
Spain, it has become
evident that in view of
their expanding business
model, the company would
need to opt toward
streamlining factory
processes and achieve
the flexibility required
to adapt to this
expansion. The
industrial and home
cleaning products and
detergents
manufacturer’s response
has been the
construction of a live
storage racking
warehouse that features
and open-plan design
with maximum height,
which will allow it to
optimise the services it
offers clients, yet at
the same time free up
space for production.
With
this new look in mind,
the Barcelona company
decided to invest in the
purchase of a building
dedicated exclusively to
storage and logistics,
which is 400m from the
company’s headquarters
(where the production
plant and the offices
are still located). A
truck deals with the
daily transport of the
goods from the
production unit to the
new warehouse. This
shuttle vehicle unloads
the goods in a bay of
the warehouse which is
connected to the back
part of a block of
gravity-lane live
storage racking
measuring 28m long, 10m
wide and 9.5m high, and
with a capacity of more
than 1,000 pallets. Once
here, a reach truck
places the goods on the
roller tracks (nine
lanes in total, each
with a capacity for 23
pallets in depth and
five in height).
