ALZAMORA
Automated
warehouse with
DOUBLE-DEPTH
SHELVING
Alzamora Packing,
SA’s new industrial
plant has been
equipped with an
automated warehouse
that features
double-depth
shelving units
designed to organize
and centralize their
stock of raw
materials,
production equipment
and finished
products. Designed
with only two aisles
of shelving, the
warehouse boasts the
capacity to store
over 8,000 pallets.
The company’s new
warehouse is
approximately 90
meters long and 26
meters high. It has
two entrances for
palletised goods,
one for raw
materials and
production equipment
and another for
finished products.
In both cases, a
shuttle car is in
charge of collecting
pallets and
transferring them to
a roller track,
which leaves them
within reach of the
forks of stacker
cranes. Equipment is
loaded on 1300mm and
1500mm high
Europallets because,
in order to store
its die moulds,
Alzamora uses its
own metallic cages
that have been
adapted to fit the
pallet structure. In
addition, the system
allows the load to
protrude five
centimetres along
the length and width
of pallets, so that
for an 800mm x
1200mm Europallet,
the maximum
dimensions of the
load stored on it
would be 850mm x
1250mm.
